Notes
- This podcast episode was assigned in a course I considered taking for my second Master's program, the Rutgers MCM. I didn't end up taking the course, but I did grab a few of the assigned readings and media, since I always could use a little more knowledge of marketing practices.
- The main thing to focus on is "who are you speaking to," "who is your audience."
- In fact, this is something that's very difficult to reconcile with the creative process, in my opinion. A lot of creation is something that is born from the creative and is put out into the world, it is not necessarily designed for a specific audience right off the bat.
- Or, perhaps, more accurately, it feels like the difference between drafting brain and editing brain.
- "Do not miss a call to action"
- "Campaigns that convert are done multiple times" βΒ you have to run a campaign multiple times, because you have to catch people at the right time.
- Authenticity is so important βΒ showing up as the person you actually are.
- What interests me, is that real life = good marketing. The idea of a personal brand.
- authenticity does not equal transparency, because some parts of yourself are "precious to you" β but what you choose to put out there is true.
