Hey! 👋 My name's Hannah Semmelhack (known as Pitchpine in some corners of the internet), and this is my knowledge forest 🌲✨. As it is a forest, it grows and changes as I do. This means that work you find here may be incomplete, inaccurate, or subject to change. But no need to panic: I cite all my sources, and I tend to this digital forest frequently. Allow me time to grow, and feel free to wander about or come back again later.

🍃 Rules of the Forest
- The forest is a place I collect knowledge as I find it — images, videos, books, movies, errant thoughts, etc — anything that captures my interest. I think of these as 🌰 'seeds.' I plant them (add them to my private notes, and sometimes post them publicly), and turn them into 🌱 seedlings.
- 🌱 Seedlings, with enough attention, might grow into 🪴 saplings. These are ever-changing, ever-growing notes. They represent my current thoughts on a topic, even if those thoughts are half-formed, riddled with holes, or completely nonsensical.
- 🪴 Saplings might grow into an 🌲 evergreen — a note that I feel is fleshed out, well-researched, even essay-like. It will still get tended from time-to-time, but doesn't require as much attention. These are the backbone of the forest.
- 🌲 Evergreens that hang around for a long time can sometimes become 🌳 Old Growth — these are ideas that wind up published as essays, blog posts, academic journal articles, fanfiction, audio fiction podcasts, or fiction. They might not always remain publicly available here, depending on proprietary constraints, but their presence is felt the same way an old, mossy log continues to shape the forest long after it has rotted away.
- The forest contains meandering paths — bidirectional hyperlinks, like a wiki. Follow them at your leisure. Sometimes, you may stumble across a seed you can't see (a note that does not appear publicly). Come back again later— it may have sprouted by then.
